Strike suspended – decision on mass sackings delayed

At its meeting this afternoon, the London regional committee of the FBU agreed to put a proposal to the brigade, which would see the strike scheduled to commence on 5 November suspended, provided the brigade agreed to go to arbitration and delay any decision on mass sackings until the authority meeting on 26 January.

The brigade informed the union this evening that it had agreed to this demand. Therefore, the strike is suspended.

Industrial action short of a strike remains on, as the brigade refused to (a) withdraw policies 251 and 439, and (b) withdraw the letter forcing crew manager stars to accept they have a contractual obligation to act-up.

Further information will be released shortly.
